Basic Financial Literacy: An Islamic Perspective
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to financial literacy from an Islamic perspective. It combines personal finance, financial concepts, and financial planning. It helps individuals build wealth and establish long-term stability through Islamic teachings and principles. Students will be equipped to make informed decisions on their finances and grow their net worth. The course will cover stock trading, estate planning, property purchasing, and business management.
The course examines the above financial instruments in the context of Quran and teachings of Ahlebayt (a). Though this will be supplemented with other Islamic sources. This provides a unique perspective on financial literacy.
Stock Market Investing: Techniques and Analysis
This course provides an overview of stock market investing. It includes an understanding of how the market works. As well as techniques for investing in stocks using technical and fundamental analysis. Strategies for creating a personalized asset mix profile will also be covered. Other topics covered are: Mutual Funds, ETFs, Stocks, and Bonds. It will also cover their associated risks. Additionally, this course will provide an overview on how to optimize your TFSA, RRSP, RESP, and FHSA.
Note this course requires a prerequisite of "Basic Financial Literacy: An Islamic Perspective".
Presentation Skills
This course develops skills needed to create and deliver effective presentations. It covers aspects of presentation design and delivery. Including audience analysis, message development, and visual aids. By the end, participants will be able to organize and present information clearly and persuasively.
Throughout the course, participants will have the opportunity to practice their presentation skills through in-class work and presentations. The course concludes with a final presentation where participants apply what they have learned to real-world scenarios.
Public Speaking
This course develops skills and confidence needed to become an effective public speaker. The course covers various aspects of public speaking. Including audience analysis, message development, and delivery techniques. By the end, participants will be able to organize and present information clearly and persuasively.
Research and note taking
This course develops skills needed to effectively conduct research and take notes. It cover various aspects of research and note taking. Identifying sources, evaluating information, organizing and summarizing information will also be covered. By the end, participants will be able to conduct research, analyze and evaluate information. As well as take effective notes for academic, professional or personal use.
This course develops skills needed to effectively network on LinkedIn - the world's largest professional networking platform. It cover various aspects of networking on LinkedIn. Including creating an effective profile and building a professional network. Students will be able to use LinkedIn to find job opportunities and grow their career. As well as expand their professional networks.
