Our Approach
At Awaiters, we understand that traditional education in immigrant communities often falls short by focusing solely on imparting religious and cultural knowledge and neglecting the overall development and well-being of the students. Many of the teaching methods focus on rote memorization and lack consideration for the unique needs, concerns, challenges, and aspirations of the students.
Additionally, there is often a lack of qualified and dedicated teachers who possess a solid understanding of child development, including moral and spiritual growth. The excessive focus on teaching methods in Sunday school, rather than on the actual content, leads to a mechanical and unengaging approach to education.
This assembly-line approach to education often results in students struggling and failing, despite their own efforts. It is crucial for parents and educators to recognize that each child is unique and that a one-size-fits-all approach is not effective. This individuality and diversity is a fundamental aspect of how God has created us.
How Awaiters Educational Program (AEP) differentiates itself from others:
- Qualified teachers
At Awaiters, we have a team of qualified teachers who are well-versed in Islamic knowledge derived from the Quran and the teachings of the infallible household of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s).
- Life + Afterlife balance
Our approach focuses on human development and transformation to achieve success in both this world and the hereafter.
- Smaller groups
We use smaller group sizes to facilitate interactions and better understand the needs of each participant.
- Customized learning
Our training is customized to meet the unique needs of each individual, as we recognize that one size does not fit all.
- Brotherhood/Sisterhood
Social bonding and peer learning are also encouraged among participants.
- Free
Additionally, our classes are offered free of charge.
